Today I am talking fall trends (not that you could tell by my title, we’ll get to that later) and in this post I’m highlighting two trends – black and white and booties. I’m a child of the 90s and we rocked black. I mean EVERYTHING was black. Therefore, a black and white trend is very easy to pull off. I’ve kept this one simple, I just pulled a few older pieces from my closet and voila, I’m on trend. Nothing is simpler then a white button down and a pair of black jeans. To really show off your sartorial expertise is to mix black and white patterns, I have not budgeted for those prints so I’m just going to stick to the easy…for now.
To add some spice to the outfit I’ve paired it with the most amazing leopard booties of the season – these from 9 West in collaboration with InStyle magazine (hence the hash tag #9WInStyle). Not a fan of leopard? Not a problem they also come in black and burgundy. This comes to another fall trend – the bootie. If you only need one shoe this season it needs to be the bootie. I thought the leopard print was a fun way to break up the black and white. These booties are gong to be in heavy rotation so prepare yourself. I always feel that when I do a black, white and leopard look I need my lips to pop. My favourite pop is red lips.
Here’s where blogging and children don’t mix – specifically when taking photographs. First, I’m not lugging four kids around to find the perfect backdrop. Second, they want to help me with the artistic concept of the photos which means some interesting poses. Third, they fight and this time it was over who was going to use the remote control for the camera. Therefore, the pictures suffer. Oh well, blogger problems. Black on black was a horrible idea.
I am missing a kid, to be honest don’t know where he went.
