Doing TV excites me every time. Moreover, I can’t believe that I’m doing it. Being a style expert on television was never on my radar, I mean a stay at home mom sitting across the likes of Steven and Chris and now Tracy Moore on Cityline and discussing style and trends…really? Did I mention she’s turning 39 in less than two weeks? Yet here I am and wearing TV Blue this time. That’s what Mairlyn Smith calls cobalt blue – she’s a regular on Cityline and Breakfast Television, she’s a cooking expert and you need to get her cookbooks (I have 2) and follow her on twitter @MairlynSmith. I recently helped Mairlyn refresh her television wardrobe. I was already set to help her when I got the call about doing Cityline the same week we were to go shopping. It’s funny how life works. I will be on today at 9 am showing the latest children’s spring fashion. The segment features all four of my children, my niece Mila and my sister Rosie. (She is going to kill me when she reads this, she has been keeping it a secret…tweet me throughout the day to make sure I am alive. You may have to ask for proof of life.). They say never to work with animals and children. They obviously worked with my son Luka when they were discussing this. His little shenanigans make for interesting TV.
I am a shoe snob – they don’t have to be designer they just have to be amazing. You can find great shoes at various price points and I always make sure that mine look good and are good quality (99% of the time). When a Brazillian shoe company, Guilherina, approached me to send me a complimentary pair I did my research before I said yes. These shoes are all leather – inside, outside as are the soles. The styles are beautiful and many are just stunning so I immediately said yes. When I received these they also gifted me one more pair. My husband and girlfriend Mary both thought the shoes were spectacular. So I had to wear them on my first Cityline segment. For Canadian information please click here.
I normally wear a nude shoe with a vibrant colour but I really like the idea of a black and white shoe to add something different to the outfit. It’s unexpected and fresh.
