I am a big fan of Joules, the British brand that was born when it sold 100 pairs of bright pink wellies. Joules is very British countryside – well cut clothing with a fun twist and classic silhouettes. When they approached me to review one of their dresses I jumped at the chance. I selected their white eyelet shift dress and thought it would be my summer staple. Canadian weather had different plans for me, I only wore it for the first time in Zadar, Croatia and it became the most worn article of clothing on the entire trip.
I didn’t think I would wear it that much, once for sure, maybe twice but with each wear I kept getting more compliments so with each new city I would wear it again. I wore it a total of four times. The classic shape and eyelet fabric made it both a staple and a trend piece. My husband, family, kids and friends all loved the dress and I could wear it to dinner, touring, church and family functions (yes I did all that on this one trip, but more on the trip in a future post). All I had to do was switch out the accessories and footwear and it was appropriate for all those functions
Wearing white with four kids around may sound daunting but the only time I got it dirty was because of my own carelessness. I had spilled something yellow on myself and I thought I had ruined the dress (it was on the first wear). I was fortunate enough to have access to a washing machine. I pre-treated the stain and washed it and whatever it was came right out!
